Brayton Interiors was tasked with repurposing a seldom-used upstairs media room with a balcony view in a way that was functional, cozy, and fresh while remaining consistent with the original architecture of the home. As a full service residential interior design firm, we were able to present different configurations, room usages, and renovation scopes prior to landing on a function–a work area was the perfect fit–and selecting furnishings and finishes. The client wanted his home office to be a personal zen space, allowing him to work from home while enjoying the serene views of his expansive backyard. 

Once the renovation details were nailed down, our interior design firm provided design services including selecting furnishings, purchasing, and installing furniture. Though “only” a designer in Denver, Julie Brayton, the firm’s principal, has roots in Los Angeles and a resource library of the finest artisans and furniture makers both nationally and internationally, which paired perfectly with these clients who have immaculate taste and a penchant for travel and a worldly, collected feel to their furnishings. Key pieces in this room include a silk-and-wool rug from Holland & Sherry, a mahogany desk from Rose Tarlow, an Eames desk chair, and filing cabinets inlaid with red lacquer from Jiun Ho.

Though only a small room in this client’s home, it had a transformative impact to the overall function and feel of the house, which is exactly what Brayton Interiors aims to do with each room we design: transform Denver interior design, one room at a time.
